| MONDAY | BREAKFAST AT GENIE | 11am - 12.30pm | Great positive start to your week: tea, toast and different guest speakers each week from a variety of organisations providing you with information and ideas to support personal development. |
| CREATIVE WRITING With Melissa McLeod, qualified and fully experienced in creative writing |
1pm - 3pm | A series of writing workshops with the objective for clients to write & produce their own work, poetry, short stories etc for performances & other media platforms. | |
| TUESDAY | MUSIC With Robert Ellis, formerly bass guitarist with The Gems, a band from Merseybeat era |
11am - 12.30pm | Robert takes the group through various music styles, guitar, drums & vocal harmonies with emphasis on fun. For people who show commitment and interest the class can gradually lead towards joining the performance music group. |
| ‘SMART’ RECOVERY Genie In The Gutter in partnership with Addaction |
1.30pm - 3pm | A self management recovery based session teaching self-empowerment and self-reliance with the opportunity for group discussion. | |
| WEDNESDAY | ART With Lindsey Smyth |
11am - 12.30pm | Creative art work. You don’t have to be Picasso to join in with this class. All art forms are covered including painting, clay modelling, mosaics etc. |
| SERVICE USERS GROUP A peer led group for service users FIRST WEDNESDAY OF EVERY MONTH |
1.30pm - 3pm | Have your views heard to make real & sustainable changes. Genie uses the ladder of participation model enabling service users to ultimately have a degree of control in decision making, even at the highest level. | |
| THURSDAY | DRAMA With Simon Ralph (freelance director) & *LIPA drama student placements. GITG work in partnership with *Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. |
10.30am - 12noon | Gain self-confidence techniques and new skills using improvisation and creative expression. For people who show commitment and interest the class can gradually lead towards joining the performance drama group. |

12.30pm - 1.30pm | General knowledge questions & answers with a prize for the winner and quizmaster each week – all in good fun. | |
| PERFORMANCE OUTREACH GROUP (Performance Drama, Performance Music)with Simon Ralph & Robert Ellis |

For people who have regularly attended the morning music/drama groups & have been invited to perform due to interest, commitment & eagerness to develop their talent. This group works towards performances. If you are interested in joining ‘POG’ dram, music or both please speak to your client support worker for criteria. | |
| FRIDAY | GUITAR CLASS A peer led group for beginners |
11.00am - 12.30pm | A peer led group aimed for those who want to learn to play a guitar and/or improve. Advanced guitar players help beginners in the learning process, teaching chords, rhythm etc. |
| MOVEMENT MEDITATION A peer led meditation relaxation class |
1.30pm - 3.00pm | Relax in a soothing environment where you can rest, meditate, & find out more about holistic therapies & techniques to help you chill out. |
We also have NA meetings on Sundays at 3pm AND Fridays at 7.30pm & an AA meeting on Wednesdays at 7.30pm; all held at Genie. In addition to your assigned support worker there is also a 1-to-1 therapist available at Genie on Mondays (must be booked in advance) and various ad-hoc sessions/courses advertised as and when on the GITG notice board. E.g. Film making, confidence, cookery, anger management etc.
