ONE MAN'S STORY
We're delighted to announce that our first ever fundraising musical production is
coming to Liverpool Philharmonic Hall this September!
One Man’s Story depicts the transatlantic tale of world-renowned musician and former Genie In The Gutter patron ‘Bongo’ Eddie Folk, his journey from New York to Liverpool and his time with the chart-topping band Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
This production is an account of struggle against racial prejudice in 1950s America, the tumultuous nature of life on tour with a hugely successful band, and the harrowing isolation and creative rebirth of a woman whose soul-mate has passed away. We’re proud to say some of our service users will be acting in and helping to produce the show, alongside some well-known theatre veterans, and also features a live set by Kid Creole and the Coconuts themselves!
We’re working really hard on this production, and we’re so excited for you to see it!
